Lorena Romero has extensive experience in financial controls and auditing, currently serving as Manager of Financial Controls at Barrick Gold Corporation since February 2017, after progressing from the role of Senior Analyst in the same department. Prior expertise includes a position as Lead Senior Auditor at Bunge, where vital contributions were made to audit planning and risk evaluation, and a tenure at PwC in various roles, including Senior Internal Auditor and Internal Audit Assistant Manager, where responsibilities focused on compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and enhancements to operational efficiency. Lorena holds a Graduate Certificate in International Business Management from Seneca Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Accounting in Accounting and Finance from UCAB - Universidad Católica Andrés Bello.
