Art Kalmes has a strong background in civil engineering and has held various leadership roles throughout their career. Art began working at Barr Engineering Co. in 1988 as a Civil Engineer and later became a Vice President/Sr. Civil Engineer. In 1998, they joined Polaris Group Inc. as a Principal, and in 2007, they moved to URS Corporation as a Vice President. In 2010, they returned to Barr Engineering Co. as a Vice President.

Art Kalmes received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Agricultural Engineering from Iowa State University, where they studied from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1986 to 1988.
