Novia McKay has a diverse work experience spanning over 14 years. Their most recent position is as the Head of the Project Management Office at Barita Investments Limited since April 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Programme Coordinator at the United Nations' Spotlight Initiative from July 2020 to April 2021. Novia also served as a Senior Project Manager at JMMB Group Jamaica from November 2016 to July 2020. Before that, Novia held positions at UNDP as a Programme Analyst, Capacity Development from January 2013 to October 2016, and at RISE Life Management Services as a Project Coordinator from January 2011 to December 2013. Novia also worked as an Interventions Coordinator at Jamaica Youth Advocacy Network in 2010 and as a Senior Project Coordinator at Non-Violence Project USA in Miami from November 2007 to November 2009.

Novia McKay completed a Master's degree in Communication for Social and Behaviour Change from The University of the West Indies, Mona, from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Macalester College, which they attended from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their degrees, Novia also obtained a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in June 2016.
