Director of Culinary at Banza

Shanna Cooper has held various roles in the food and beverage industry since 2013. Shanna began their career as a Public Relations Intern at CKC agency in 2013. Shanna then moved on to become a Marketing & Events Specialist at Rockit Ranch Productions in 2014. The same year, they also started their own business, by shanna cooper, as a Recipe Development + Culinary R&D. In 2016, they became an Editorial Assistant at Short Stack Editions, and in 2017, a Chef Instructor at The Brooklyn Kitchen and a Test Kitchen Intern at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. In 2018, they joined Plated as a Senior Culinary Product Developer and Recipe Developer. In 2021, they began working at BuzzFeed as a Recipe Developer. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Banza as Director of Culinary, Senior Culinary R&D Manager, and Product & Culinary R&D Manager.

Shanna Cooper is currently enrolled in the Professional Culinary Arts program at the International Culinary Center, which they began in 2017. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising (Management/Media) and Applied Communications, with a specialization in Public Relations, from Michigan State University between 2012 and 2015. Shanna also attended The American University of Rome to study Public Relations & Advertising a la Mediterranean in 2013. In 2011, Shanna attended the University of Iowa to study Journalism & Communications.
