Ellen Fernandes has a diverse work experience, starting in 2002 as an Independent Curator and Writer for organizations such as Design Museum, Geffrey Museum, and Routledge. Ellen then worked as a Strategist at IDEO from 2003 to 2006. Following that, they served as a Strategy Director at Wolff Olins from 2006 to 2009, where they delivered brand-led consulting to various clients. From 2010 onwards, Ellen worked independently as a Ventures Consultant and Mentor, providing consulting services to innovation teams, agencies, and clients. Ellen also held the position of Chief Innovation Officer at 10x Banking from 2016 to 2017. Most recently, they founded their own company called Banked in 2018.
Ellen Fernandes completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History, Critical and Cultural Theory with the Martin Kirby Prize at the University of Leeds from 1997 to 2000. Ellen went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Curating Contemporary Design with an AHRB Scholarship from Kingston University during the period of 2002 to 2003. Lastly, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Responsibility and Business Practice sponsored by WO at the University of Bath from 2008 to 2010.
