Line Wiid

Co-Founder, Executive Director and CFO at Bank Zero

Line Wiid has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Line started their career as a Deputy Audit Manager at Price Waterhouse Coopers in 1988 and later worked as a Management Accountant at Capespan International in 1994. Line then joined Iscor Ltd as an IT Auditor in 1995.

In 1996, Wiid started their journey at FNB, where they held various roles including Special Projects IT, CFO - IT & Banking, Head of Products and Marketing - Core Banking, and CEO Smart Product House. During their time at FNB, they played a key role in Smart Solutions as the CEO from 2008 to 2012 and as the CEO of Transactional Banking and Mass Market from 2012 to 2014.

In 2014, Wiid took on the role of Executive heading up the CEO's Office at FNB South Africa. Line was responsible for several business units including Smart Transactional Banking, FNB Service Provider, and eWallet Solutions. Additionally, they oversaw the Mass Market and Retail Forex divisions. Their tenure at FNB South Africa lasted until 2015.

From there, Wiid ventured into the fintech sector and co-founded Zero Research (Pty) Ltd in 2018, where they served as the Co-Founder and CFO. Simultaneously, they co-founded Bank Zero in the same year, where they held the positions of Co-Founder, Executive Director, and CFO.

Overall, Wiid's work experience showcases their extensive knowledge in finance, IT, banking, and leadership, making their a valuable asset in the industry.

Line Wiid attended the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria from an unknown start year to 1988, where they studied Accounting and earned a B Com Acc degree. Line then went on to study at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 1989 to 1991, obtaining a B Compt Hons/CTA degree in Accounting. During this period, they also attended the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants from 1985 to 1992, and successfully completed the Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) program. In 1994 and 1995, Line pursued further education at the University of Johannesburg, obtaining an M Com degree in Computer Audit.
