P. Vijayan Nambiar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. P . Vijayan is currently working as the Addl.Chief Engineer (Rolling Stock) at Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited since January 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Deputy Chief Engineer (Rolling Stock) at the same company from July 2016 to January 2022. Before joining Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd., P. Vijayan Nambiar worked at RITES Ltd, GC to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. from May 2008 to June 2016. P . Vijayan held the position of Rolling Stock Engineer (T&C)/Manager (Elect) and was responsible for various tasks including planning, procurement, contract management, design review, quality inspection, testing, integration, and commissioning of metro rolling stock. P . Vijayan also has experience in maintenance of EMUs/metro rolling stock.

Earlier in their career, P. Vijayan Nambiar worked at Central Railway, Mumbai as a Junior Engineer to Section Engineer from May 1995 to April 2008. In this role, they focused on the operation and maintenance of electrical multiple units (EMUs)/suburban trains, planning maintenance schedules, and procurement of materials and parts. Prior to that, they worked at GlOBE Electrical Industries as a Production Engineer, where they were responsible for the design, installation, and commissioning of LT/HT bus ducts, control panels, distribution boards, and other related tasks. At GYRO Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., P. Vijayan Nambiar worked as a Testing Engineer from July 1990 to May 1992, where their main responsibilities involved testing and design of CT/PTs up to 33 KV rated voltage.

P. Vijayan Nambiar's education history includes a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Kannur Polytechnic, which they completed from 1983 to 1986. P . Vijayan then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. In 2020, Nambiar enrolled in the BITS Pilani Work Integrated Learning Programmes and completed their Master of Technology degree in Quality Management in 2022.
