Gaetano Perrone has extensive work experience in the field of design for shoes and handbags. Gaetano is currently the Head of Design for Shoes at Balmain, a role they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, they founded their own company, PEIO srl, in 2008, where they served as Founder and Creative Director.
From 2010 to 2021, Perrone worked at Alexander McQueen as the Head of Design for Woman Shoes collections. During their time there, they also served as a design consultant for other brands such as Iceberg, GIANVITO ROSSI, and Christian Dior Couture.
Before joining Alexander McQueen, Perrone worked at Salvatore Ferragamo as the Head of Design for Woman Shoes collections from 2008 to 2010. Gaetano was responsible for creating a capsule collection for the S/S 2009 Show and collaborating with Yoji Yamamoto on a capsule woman shoes collection.
In their earlier career, Perrone held various roles such as Freelance Design Consultant at Sergio Rossi from 2004 to 2005, Design Consultant at Kenzo Mode from 2005 to 2006, and Head of Design for Man and Woman shoes and handbags at Alexander McQueen from 2003 to 2006. In the latter role, they also supervised licenses for PUMA and SAMSONITE.

Gaetano Perrone completed their Master in Fashion Management degree at the Istituto Europeo di Design until 1998. In addition, they also obtained a degree in Fashion Design from the same institution during the same period.
