Dave Byng is an experienced security and law enforcement professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Head of Security at Balfour Beatty plc since October 2019, and as Interim Head of Security at Balfour Beatty VINCI since February 2023, Dave has previously held significant roles including Detective Sergeant at Thames Valley Police from 2009 to April 2022, where responsibilities included CTPOR Manager, Counter Terrorism Legal Advisor, and Intelligence Specialist. Prior experience also includes serving as Detective Inspector at Counter Terrorism Policing and a lengthy tenure with Sussex Police, where Dave held positions such as Detective Sergeant focusing on various specialized units.
