James Ballantine started their work experience in 1988 as a Regional Sales Manager at Sartorius. James then worked as a Sales representative at Rice Lake Weighing Systems from 1994 to 2001. After that, they joined advantech mfg as a sales representative from 2001 to 2003. James later worked at Batteries Plus as a sales representative from 2002 to 2005. In 2005, they started working at Baumer as a Regional Sales Manager and also as an OEM Account Executive. From 2010 to 2012, they served as a Senior Sales Executive at Telemecanique Sensors, and then as an Eastern Regional Sales Manager from 2012 to 2014. Currently, they are working as an Account Manager at Badger Meter Inc since 2014.

James Ballantine obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Accounting and Business/Management from Simpson College. Subsequently, they pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Regis University, completing the program between 1999 and 2001.
