Hao Liu has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of research. Starting in 2022, they are currently working as a Research Scientist at Bactolife. Prior to this, they served as a Researcher at Stockholms universitet from 2022 to 2022. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Before that, they held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at KTH | Kungliga Tekniska högskolan from 2018 to 2019, and also worked as a Doctoral Student at the same institution from 2013 to 2018. Hao Liu began their research career as a Master Student at Sichuan University, where they worked from 2009 to 2012.

Hao Liu completed their education in a chronological order, starting with a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Sichuan University, which took place from 2005 to 2009. After that, they pursued a Master's degree in Biologcial Sciences at the same institution, Sichuan University, which was awarded between 2009 and 2012. Following their Master's degree, Hao Liu then undertook a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in Protein engineering at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, which lasted from 2013 to 2018.
