Susan Joseph

Platform Lead at Bactobio

Susan completed her PhD in Molecular Microbiology & Genomics at Nottingham Trent University, where her doctoral thesis focussed on the molecular typing and genomics of the neonatal pathogen, Cronobacter. She completed her first postdoctoral position at New York University on the environmental microbiome and antibiotic resistance in New York City public environments. She then joined the Curtis lab at QMUL as a senior research associate with their subsequent move to King’s College London, where her research focused on understanding the role of the oral microbiome in health and disease using mouse models and omics tools.

At Bactobio, Susan will lead the technical team to ensure the smooth running of the microbial platform. She will support the microbial generation team in the isolation of novel microbial species.
