Mark Rice

Professor Of Entrepreneurship -- Now In Phased Retirement at Babson College

Mark P. Rice is an accomplished academic and leader in entrepreneurship, currently serving as a Professor of Entrepreneurship at Babson College during a phased retirement that began in March 2018. Previously, Mark occupied several significant roles at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, including Professor and Vice Provost for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, where efforts were focused on enhancing the institution's innovation ecosystem. Mark also held the position of Dean of the School of Business at WPI, overseeing accreditation processes and expanding the entrepreneurial network. Prior to WPI, Mark served as Dean and Professor at Babson College, where notable initiatives included the launch of a blended learning MBA program. Earlier in Mark's career, leadership roles at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute involved developing entrepreneurial programs and infrastructure. Mark's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Management and master's and bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering, all obtained from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
