Clay Brown is an experienced professional in the fields of standards, certification, and program development. Currently serving as Co-Lead Executive and Head of Standards, Certification and Product Delivery at B Lab since March 2023, Clay is responsible for the development and implementation of global standards. Prior to this role, Clay was Chief Program Officer at Fair Trade USA from April 2015 to April 2023, focusing on creating impactful programs for farmers and workers. As a co-founder and partner at Adaptogether from 2013 to March 2017, Clay launched a social business aimed at sustainable supply chain solutions. Clay's earlier experience includes serving as Associate Director and Head of Certification at FLO-CERT, where management of a multicultural team ensured high-quality service delivery, and as Head of Certification and Trade Audit at The Fairtrade Foundation, overseeing licensing and certification processes. Clay holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Sussex and a BA in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
