Sumitra Pillai, Ph.D, currently serves as the Vice President of Product Development at Azurity Pharmaceuticals since September 2023. Previously, Sumitra held several key leadership roles, including Vice President and R&D Head at Slayback Pharma from December 2020 to September 2023, and Vice President at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories from August 2013 to December 2020, where positions included Senior Director and Senior Principal Scientist. Prior to Dr. Reddy's, Sumitra was with AUROBINDO PHARMA LTD as Vice-President and Associate Vice-President, and with Zydus Cadila as General Manager. The early career spanned senior research roles at Astron Research Ltd and Claris Lifesciences Limited. Sumitra holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Pacific University Udaipur, a Master's in Pharmacy from Gujarat University, and completed the General Management Programme at the Indian School of Business.
