Facundo Carreiro is a seasoned software engineer currently building Aztec's zero-knowledge virtual machine (zkVM) and contributing to the development of Aztec3, a decentralized, privacy-preserving rollup for Ethereum, at Aztec since January 2024. Previously, at Google from December 2017 to June 2023, Facundo served as a Staff Software Engineer and Technical Lead, developing an anti-tampering and anti-piracy system for Android, and also contributed to distributed machine learning infrastructure. Experience includes a tenure as Lead Software Developer at ko9 Labs, where skills in various databases and cloud technologies were applied, and an early role as a Research Assistant at the Argentinean National Research Council, alongside a visiting researcher position in France. Facundo's career began as a Software Developer at Core Security Technologies, specializing in penetration testing. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam and two degrees in Computer Science from the University of Buenos Aires.
