Melana Kasimova has a strong background in the aviation industry, having worked at Azerbaijan Airlines since 2004. Melana started as a Specialist for Certification and State Register, specializing in aviation regulations and safety measures. In 2008, they transitioned to SW Travel and served as a Sales Manager for four years. In 2012, they joined Premier Tour as Deputy Director for a year before moving to flydubai as a Supervisor from 2013 to 2016. Returning to Azerbaijan Airlines in 2017, Melana held various managerial roles including Finance Accountant, Deputy Chief of Flights Profit Accounting and Economic Forecasting Division, Deputy Chief of Operational Settlements Department, Deputy Chief of Finance and Accounting Department, Head of Profit Analysis Division, and currently Deputy Head of Flight Operations Analysis Division. Their continuous growth and expertise in finance, operational settlements, accounting, and flight operations analysis make their a valuable asset to the airline industry.

Melana Kasimova completed their education at the National Aviation Academy of the Republic of Azerbaijan from 2001 to 2007, where they obtained a Diploma of Specialist in International Economic Relations. In addition to their formal education, Melana has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. Melana obtained a certification in "Свидетельство о прохождении подготовки персонала для сввт" from the Transport Clearing House in September 2023. Melana also received certifications from the Airline Business Analytics Center at Amadeus in August 2023, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in April 2023 for BSP Essentials, and BLUE VISIONS MANAGEMENT PTY LTD in June 2014 for Sales and Negotiation Skills. Prior to their formal education, Melana obtained certifications in Trade Unions in the Market Economy from the International Eurasian Metal Workers' Federation in May 2007, Microsoft Excel 2003 from Educat of AIC Group Company in October 2006, and New Trends in Hotel & Tourism Industry from the Organization of Tourism Education and Training, Hellenic Republic in June 2006.
