Sidney Buchbinder is a highly skilled hardware engineer with a strong background in photonic design, system integration, and analysis. Currently employed at Ayar Labs since November 2018, Sidney specializes in photonic system analysis and ASIC design. Previous experience includes a hardware engineering role at Apple, focusing on power and thermal systems for iMacs, and a software engineering internship at Facebook, where Sidney contributed to location-based services. Earlier career experiences include a technical internship at MITRE, developing a Mathematica simulation framework for quantum circuits, and a research internship at Princeton University, assisting with atomic magnetometer construction. Sidney holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Caltech.
