Gioia Della Giustina has a diverse work experience spanning various research and development roles. Gioia currently holds a position as the VP Materials & Process Development at Axtra3D, Inc. since September 2021. Prior to this, from 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Process Development Specialist in the Resin Technology Department at SISMA S.p.A.
From 2016 to 2018, Gioia served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Padova - Industrial Engineering Department. Their research focused on the synthesis and 3D printing of photosensitive hydrogels and biocompatible materials for tissue reconstruction and cell study.
Gioia also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Padova & Veneto Nanotech from 2014 to 2016. In this role, they were responsible for the Padova Research Unit and worked on the development of new resists for direct patterning and nanofabrication using EUV and X-rays.
During their time at Veneto Nanotech from 2013 to 2014, Gioia held a position as a Senior Researcher. Gioia contributed to the research and development activities in the nanotechnology field.
From 2012 to 2013, Gioia worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Senior Researcher at the Veneto Nanotech & Università di Padova. Their research focused on the development of functional materials and the fabrication of plasmonic sensors.
Gioia's research journey began with a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Padova from 2007 to 2010. During this time, they worked on patternable hybrid sol-gel materials for micro and nano fabrication, collaborating with the LILIT group at Elettra-Trieste Synchrotron facilities.
Prior to their fellowship, they served as a Ph.D. student at the University of Padova from 2004 to 2007, working on the development and synthesis of photosensitive hybrid sol-gel materials for optical devices.
Gioia also gained international experience as a Visiting Ph.D. student at the Université de Strasbourg in 2005. There, they conducted research on the nonlinear optical properties of hybrid sol-gel materials.
Overall, Gioia Della Giustina's work experience has primarily revolved around research and development in the fields of materials science, nanotechnology, and additive manufacturing.
Gioia Della Giustina holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Materials Sciences from the Università degli Studi di Padova, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006. Gioia also has a Master's degree in Scienza dei materiali from the same university, completed before 2003. Prior to university education, they completed their Maturità scientifica with a focus on Indirizzo sperimentale PNI- Piano Nazionale Informatica at Liceo Scientifico "E. Curiel" in Padova. Additionally, they obtained the ECDL - European Computer Driving Licence from the ECDL Foundation in January 2004.
