Adwitia Dey has had a long and varied career in the field of biomedical research. Adwitia began their career in 2004 as a Summer Internship at Massachusetts General Hospital. In 2006, they were awarded a Research Opportunity Program (ROP) Life Science Award at the University of Toronto, where they worked in the Synapse Physiology Laboratory studying neurodevelopmental and neurogenerative disorders. In 2010, they were a Summer Research Intern at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, where they worked in both the MGH/Boston research flow cytometry laboratory and the Immunopathology and Anti-GBM Diagnostics Laboratory. From 2008 to 2011, they were a Research Assistant and Research Work Study Student at the University of Toronto, and from 2011 to 2015 they were a Doctoral Student and Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health. In 2017, they were an American Association of Immunologists (AAI)-Fellow at The American Association of Immunologists, and from 2018 to 2019 they were a NIH-F32 Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where they were the lead fellow in two significant studies. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist and Scientist at AXONIS Therapeutics.
Adwitia Dey has completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physiology from Penn State University, a NIH- NIGMS Training in Alternate Careers in Biomedical Sciences from Penn State Smeal MBA Program, a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology: Integrated Physiology from Western University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology, Animal Physiology from University of Toronto.
