Dale Horsten has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry. Dale is currently the Head of Business Governance at AXIS (AXIS Capital), a position they have held since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the Financial Conduct Authority from 2019 to 2022, where they held the role of Financial Resilience - Lead, General Insurance.

Before joining the Financial Conduct Authority, Dale Horsten served as the Managing Director of ONLY YOUNG DRIVERS LIMITED, a niche insurance intermediary catering to the young driver market. Dale successfully led the asset sale of the company to the trade investor Autonet in 2019.

Dale Horsten also held positions at Autonet Insurance as Director of Telematics from 2017 to 2018, and at the Financial Conduct Authority as Lead Associate, General Insurance from 2011 to 2016. Earlier in their career, they gained experience in private equity and corporate finance roles at Correlation Risk Partners from 2007 to 2009, and at Hollard Insurance from 2002 to 2007.

Dale Horsten obtained a B. Com Honours degree in Investment Management from the University of Johannesburg in 2001. Furthermore, they completed a degree in ACII from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
