James Outram's work experience includes several roles in the legal field. James started their career at Clifford Chance, where they worked as a trainee from February 2008 to February 2010, and then as an associate from February 2010 to December 2011. In 2011, they joined Avolon as a legal counsel, a position they held until May 2016. From June 2016 until May 2022, they served as the Head of Transaction Legal - Leasing at Avolon. Since June 2022, they have been the Head of Transaction Legal - EMEA and the Americas at Avolon.

James Outram attended the University of Warwick from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Law. Following this, they pursued further education at The Law Society in 2006-2007, completing the Legal Practice Course in Law.
