Gerard Purcell is a seasoned IT executive with extensive experience in leading technology transformations and integrations. Currently serving as Vice President of GIS and IT Transformation at Avnet since October 2021, Gerard is responsible for executing the enterprise IT transformation strategy. Previously, Gerard held significant roles at Tech Data, including Senior Vice President of Global IT Engagement and Senior Vice President of Global IT Integration, where responsibilities included managing global IT teams and overseeing major acquisitions. With earlier experience at Avnet and Gateway, Gerard has demonstrated a strong capacity for driving technology initiatives in organizations, backed by a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
