Tom Verbruggen has had a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Tom started their career in 1997 as a Maintenance Manager at Sabena Technics, where they worked until 1999. From 2001 to 2003, they worked as a Ground Instructor and Aviation Quality Assurance at their own company. Tom then returned to Sabena Technics in 2002 as a Military Sales and Contracts Manager until 2004. From 2004 to 2007, they worked at DUCAIR - Luxembourg Air Ambulance as a Pilot and Quality and Flight Safety Manager. From 2007 to 2015, they served as a Pilot Falcon 900LX at GlobalJet Luxembourg. In 2015, they founded Aviatize, a software company behind Aviatize Pro, IDRONECT, and Skyman. Additionally, in the same year, they founded IDRONECT - The Drone Management Platform, where they served as CEO. From 2015 to 2016, they also worked at Luxembourg Air Rescue / Ducair as a Pilot Learjet 45XR. In 2016, they joined Luxaviation Group as a Captain Falcon 900LX/EXEasy.

Tom Verbruggen has a diverse education history spanning several fields. In 1992, they enrolled at KIH De Nayer and pursued a degree in General Engineering studies, specializing in Industrial Engineering. Tom successfully completed their studies in 1995 and went on to join Erasmushogeschool Brussel, where they obtained an MSc in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in aeronautics from 1995 to 1997.

In 1999, Tom enrolled at Sabena Flight Academy to pursue their interest in aviation. Tom completed the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) program from 1999 to 2001. Later, in 2004, they attended Aviation Experts and acquired a certificate as a Quality Manager according to JAR-OPS 1 and 3, focusing on Quality Management and auditing.

In 2012, Tom further enhanced their skills by getting accredited as an ISBAO auditor, after completing a program offered by IBAC and FlightSafety International. This course enabled him to conduct audits in line with the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations.

In 2015, Tom Verbruggen enrolled in a program at DNV-GL, where they obtained a Lead Auditor certification in ISO 9001:2015. This program focused on Quality Systems and Auditing.
