Jen Watson Koevary

Chief Operating and Financial Officer at Avery Therapeutics, Inc.

Jen Watson Koevary has extensive experience in research, engineering, and technology commercialization. From 2007 to 2009, they were a Research Assistant at The University of Arizona, where they performed mechanical and chemical testing of materials for biological applications, and micro/nano fabrication. Jen also co-founded Yakaroni, LLC in 2009, where they developed a business plan and website prototype which received first prize at the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship 2010 Entrepreneurship Showcase. In 2008, they were an Engineering Consultant at Surgical Tools, LLC, where they developed and tested novel specimen containers and x-ray tomography system for intraoperative imaging of excised tissue during breast conserving surgery. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Graduate Research Associate and Clinical Research Associate at the University of Arizona, where they focused on detection and treatment of diseases including cancer and heart failure. In 2012, they were an Engineering Consultant at Marcus Engineering, LLC, where they designed shock/vibe experiments to identify root cause of product failure. From 2016 to present, they have been the Chief Operating and Financial Officer at Avery Therapeutics Inc., where they focus on heart failure treatments. Additionally, from 2009 to present, they have been a Research Assistant Professor and Associate, Technology Commercialization, at the University of Arizona.

Jen Watson Koevary began their educational journey in 2004, when they earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona. Jen continued their studies at the University of Arizona, earning a B.S. in Health Sciences with a focus in Physiology in 2009. Jen then completed their education at the University of Arizona in 2013, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering.
