Thomas Schönenberger has over 15 years of experience in the field of cybersecurity. Thomas is currently employed as a Senior Firewall Engineer at Aveniq since May 2021. Prior to their current role, they worked as a Security Architect and Security Engineer at ISPIN AG – Cyber Security and Cyber Risk Resilience® from September 2013 to April 2021. Before that, Thomas was a Senior Security Engineer at InfoGuard AG from August 2012 to August 2013. Thomas also worked as a Security Engineer at Atos IT Solutions and Services A/S from October 2010 to July 2012. Thomas began their career as an Informatik professional at Kernkraftwerk Leibstadt AG in March 2006 and worked there until September 2010.

Thomas Schönenberger has a Master of Science in Wirtschaftsinformatik from the University of Zurich, which they obtained from 2000 to 2006. In 2014 to 2015, they pursued a CAS in IT-Projektmanagement from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW. Additionally, they completed a MAS in Information Security from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts from 2008 to 2010. Thomas is currently undertaking a SVEB-Zertifikat Ausbilder - Durchführung von Lernveranstaltungen (SVEB 1) in Erwachsenen- und Fortbildung und Unterricht at Lernwerkstatt Olten, which is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
