Alan Priester is a Senior Data Scientist at Avenda Health. Alan was previously a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at UCLA Health from February 2017 to February 2018, where they worked on surgical planning and instrumentation for focal laser ablation of prostate cancer. From January 2012 to December 2016, they were a Graduate Student Researcher at UCLA, where they developed a method to define surgical margins and focally treat prostate cancer. From May 2010 to June 2011, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Nitto Denko and UC San Diego, where they helped prepare and test novel drug delivery polymers for the treatment of cancer.

Alan Priester has a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Alan also has a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from UCLA. Their undergraduate degree is in Bioengineering from UC San Diego.
