Niels Poorthuis is an experienced civil engineer with a career spanning over two decades, currently serving as a Senior Adviseur Infra and Civieltechnisch ontwerper at Aveco de Bondt since September 2017. Previously, Niels worked as an interim Civieltechnisch Ontwerper for Experis Nederland, adapting to various organizational cultures within municipalities, contractors, and engineering firms. Notable positions include Civieltechnisch ontwerper for the FlorijnAs project at Gemeente Assen, Werkvoorbereider/Ontwerper roles at Tauw bv and Temmink Groep BV, and extensive project preparation at Gemeente Deventer. Niels holds degrees in Weg- en waterbouw from ROC Hengelo and Civiele Techniek from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, complemented by earlier education at Twentsch Carmel College and Plechelmus MAVO.
