Steven Birney is a seasoned GIS professional with extensive experience in geographic information systems and technical analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Analyst at AVANGRID, Inc. since September 2020, Steven previously held the position of GIS Analyst with the City of Norwalk, where notable achievements included receiving Esri's 2018 Special Achievement Award for real-time GIS integration. Steven also contributed to the Connecticut GIS Network as President, facilitating state-wide meetings and fostering collaboration among GIS users, and served as Vice President, focusing on communication initiatives. Earlier roles include GIS Software Specialist for the Town of Newtown CT and GIS Technician for The Nature Conservancy. Steven holds a Bachelor's degree with Honors in Geography - GIS from Central Connecticut State University.
