William (BJ) Schaefer has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

William (BJ) most recently worked at Avadel Pharmaceuticals plc as the Director of Technical Operations since October 2018. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director of Technical Operations and Quality Control at Tergus Pharma from April 2018 to October 2018.

Before that, they served as the Site Director of Quality and Technical Operations at Ei - A Pharmaceutical SolutionWorksâ„¢ from August 2017 to February 2018. William (BJ) was responsible for quality oversight, documentation control, and product release for cream, liquid, and gel products.

From February 2016 to August 2017, BJ worked at GSK as the Operations Support Manager. William (BJ) managed a team to support operations and packaging teams, focusing on deviation investigation management, CAPA initiation/completion, and OEE analysis/improvement.

Before joining GSK, BJ worked at Virbac as the Technology Transfer Manager from November 2015 to February 2016. William (BJ) led a team to complete technical transfer projects for bringing products back to the market after a warning letter.

Earlier in their career, BJ worked at various companies including GSK, ConAgra Foods, Patheon Inc., KV Pharmaceutical, and Mallinckrodt. William (BJ) held roles such as Technical Services Remediation Team Lead, Principal Engineer, Senior Research Scientist, and Principal Research Engineer/Senior Research Chemist. In these positions, they led process improvement efforts, supported R&D and manufacturing activities, and served as a technical expert for various projects.

William (BJ) Schaefer obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. William (BJ) pursued their undergraduate education at this institution from 1991 to 1996.
