Saphura Long has held various positions within the engineering field since 1980. In that year, they began working as a Research Engineer at Combustion Engineering, where they were responsible for analyzing bi-metalic welds in nuclear structures. In 1985, they became an Adjunct Professor of Material Science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Department of Engineering, teaching Strength of Materials to junior and senior engineering students. In 1994, they became the CEO of Prize Corporation, producing CRM ReckonUp, the first web-based CRM in 2000. Finally, in 2011, they became the CEO/President of Gratis Solutions, producing the first and only interactive customer community tools, the autoWALL, cycleWALL, salesmanWALL and truckWALL.
Saphura Long obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics and Engineering from Agnes Scott College. Saphura then went on to pursue a Masters degree in Nuclear Physics from The University of Alabama, which they completed in 1982.
