Marianne Faessel

Marianne Faessel has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Marianne started their career as an Associate at August & Debouzy in 1998 and worked there until 2000. Marianne then joined the Embassy of France in the United States in 2001, where they served as the Head of Legal Division until 2010. In 2010, they transitioned to the Autorité de la concurrence, where they initially worked as an Adviser for Institutional and International Affairs in the Office of the President until 2021. Marianne then took on the role of Data Protection Officer and is currently serving as the Head of Mission in the Office of the Secretary general since 2022.

Marianne Faessel's education history includes attending Duke University School of Law from 1997 to 1998, Université Paris Cité from 1996 to 1997, and the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne from 1995 to 1996. In 2000, they passed the EFB/Paris Bar examination, which granted their admission to practice law in Paris. Additionally, in February 2019, they obtained certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe (CIPP/E) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
