Josh Root is an experienced professional in community management and support leadership, currently serving as the Team Lead for Public, Community, and Social Support at Automattic since March 2013, where responsibilities include managing a global team focused on user assistance and community engagement. Prior roles include Editor in Chief and Community Manager at NameMedia and Photo.net, where Josh Root developed community strategies for a diverse network of over 800,000 photographers. As the owner of Josh Root Photography from 1999 to 2006, various editorial and commercial clients were serviced, while a background in writing and photography was established as a Senior Photographer at Chase Magazine. Josh Root holds a degree from The Evergreen State College, acquired between 1994 and 1997.
