Edwin Makuya

Country Program Manager, Fuel Integrity at Authentix

Edwin Makuya has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various sectors and industries. In 2006, they began their career as a Marketing Manager for the Programme Against Malnutrition. Edwin then served as the Country Programme Coordinator/Executive Director for the Civic Forum on Housing & Habitat Zambia, a SIDA funded project from 2009 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2012, Edwin worked as a GIS Operations Manager/Trade File Analyst for SGS in Zambia. Edwin later became the Business Development Manager for SGS, overseeing business growth strategies in Zambia, Malawi, and Southern DRC. In addition, they assumed the role of Business Manager - Agriculture & Food, responsible for the management of the strategic business units in Zambia & Malawi.

In 2017, Edwin joined Advanced Construction Technology Services (ACTS) as the Regional Business Development Manager for Africa. During this time, they contributed to the growth and development of the company in the region.

Edwin also served as the President of the Zambia Institute of Trade Policy (ZITP) from 2017, providing leadership oversight for the independent trade think-tank and driving its strategic direction.

Currently, Edwin is employed at Authentix as the Country Program Manager for Fuel Integrity in Zambia. In this role, they are responsible for program management and operations, identifying business opportunities, and driving business growth in the region for authentication services.

With their extensive experience in program management, business development, and trade policy, Edwin Makuya possesses a strong skillset that allows him to excel in various roles within different industries.

Edwin Makuya's education history is as follows:

- In 2021, they attended Texila American University Consortium and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, specializing in International Business. Edwin completed this program in 2022.

- From 2018 to 2021, Edwin studied at Lund University School of Economics and Management, where they earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in International trade policy and trade law.

- In 2015 to 2016, they pursued a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Trade and Trade Law at Lund University School of Economics and Management. This program focused on International Economics and Trade Law.

- During the same period, Edwin also attended the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (Trapca) and Lund University in Sweden, where they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in International Trade and Development, with a specialization in International Economics and Trade Law.

- In 2015, they completed a program at the Trade Policy Training Centre in Africa (Trapca), earning a Certificate in WTO Trade Facilitation for the Private Sector.

- From 2013 to 2014, Edwin studied Business Studies - International Business at the University of Greenwich, and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hon) degree.

- In 2012 to 2013, they received a Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Association of Business Executive in the UK.

- Edwin completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Project Management at the Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS) from 2010 to 2011, specializing in Project Management.

- In 2006 to 2007, they obtained a Diploma in Marketing, Public Relations & Advertising from the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM-UK).
