Director Fundraising And Corporate Communications at Austin Health

Anita Rivera has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Anita currently holds the position of Director Fundraising and Corporate Communications at Austin Health since June 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director Corporate Communications at Austin Health from December 2021 to June 2023. In 2019, they served as a Community Advisory Committee Member at the Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust. Anita also worked as a Guest Lecturer at the University of Melbourne starting from March 2018.

Anita Rivera has a strong background in the nonprofit sector. Since April 2021, they have been the Board Chair of Food Is Free Inc., an organization that provides food security education and opportunities for social connection to disadvantaged individuals.

Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Anita had an extensive career in communications and marketing. Anita served as the National Director of Communications at the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) from April 2011 to October 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Principal at The Reputation Foundry from November 2009 to March 2011 and as an Account Director at Mango Communications from March 2008 to November 2009.

Anita also has experience as a freelancer, specializing in marketing and communications, from November 2004 to February 2008. Prior to that, they worked as a Marketing and Event Coordinator at the Adult Multicultural Education Services (AMES) from August 2001 to October 2004. Anita began their career at the Centre for Investor Education, where they served as a Marketing Coordinator and Marketing Manager from May 1999 to June 2001.

Anita Rivera obtained a Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from RMIT University from 2002 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed an Executive Course in Investment Marketing at The Wharton School in 2001. Anita also received a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Art History, Criticism and Conservation from the University of Melbourne from 1995 to 2000. Anita also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Melbourne.
