Morris DeSimone

Focus Area Lead, Dept. Of Navy - SBIR Experimentation Cell at AUSGAR Technologies

Morris DeSimone has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Morris currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Cheasapeake Airport Authority, where they exercise essential governmental functions and contributes to the regulation and operation of projects. Prior to this, they worked at AUSGAR Technologies Inc. as a Functional Area Lead in support of the Department of Navy's SBIR Experimentation Cell program. In this role, they facilitated the connection between small business innovators and the DoN experimentation community, ultimately enhancing SBIR transitioning and solving warfighter problems. Morris also served as a Program Analyst supporting the Commander of U.S. Fleet Forces in advancing the Naval Tactical Grid. Earlier in their career, Morris worked at Apogee Engineering, LLC providing program management and analysis support for the Information Warfare Enterprise. Morris played a key role in the stand-up and implementation of the Enterprise, assessing capability requirements, allocating resources, and refining processes. Before that, they served in the United States Marine Corps, first as a Common Avionics Requirements Officer and later as an Avionics Officer overseeing aviation logistics support in the western continental United States. Prior to joining the Marine Corps, Morris worked as an Avionics Officer (Manager) at Fleet Readiness Center West site Ft Worth, US Navy, where they supervised avionics technicians and held various security-related roles.

Morris DeSimone earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from the University of Arkansas Grantham. Morris attended the university from 2006 to 2011. In addition, they obtained a certification in FCC General RadioTelephone Operators License/Ship Radar Endorsement from the Federal Communications Commission in January 2000.
