Matthew Jones has extensive experience in operations and reliability management within the mining and rail industries, currently serving as General Manager Operations - Bulk Central at Aurizon since September 2009. Previous roles at Aurizon include Program Director Above Rail Asset Management, Regional Integration Manager NSW/SEQ, and Reliability Manager. Matthew's career began at Rio Tinto, where roles included Reliability and Plant Integrity Superintendent, Reliability Specialist, and Reliability Engineer from January 2001 to August 2009. Earlier, Matthew worked as a Project/Maintenance Engineer at Pasminco Mining/Smelting. Academically, Matthew holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Certificate in Legal Studies (Industrial Law) from Queensland University of Technology.
