Karen Cornell has a diverse work experience in marketing, web development, and graphic design. Karen started their career in 2006 as a Marketing Specialist and ITGBL Program Administrator at The Paxton Companies, where they were responsible for creating proposals, advertisements, brochures, and sales materials. Karen also served as a primary contact for a major client and managed communication with operational staff and clients. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of Manager of Marketing & Communications at The Paxton Companies, where they cultivated and maintained the company's brand and image across multiple worldwide offices through various media channels. Karen also developed and executed communication materials, including technical writing, layout, and design.
In 2011, Karen joined Contemporary Cybernetics as a Marketing professional, where they managed the design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of the company's website and online presence. Karen also created and maintained auxiliary websites using web languages and scripts such as Drupal, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, and PHP. Additionally, they worked on graphic design projects for ad campaigns, promotional events, and sales team events.
Karen's most recent role was as the Lead Web Developer at Aura, where they demonstrated expertise in front-end development, including Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, PHP, AJAX, XML, and custom WordPress plugin development. Karen also had extensive experience with builders and preprocessors like SASS, Grunt/Gulp, NPM, Jekyll, Uglify, and Bower, as well as collaboration tools like BaseCamp, GitHub, and BitBucket/JIRA. Their understanding of information architecture and responsive design contributed to the navigation and organization of content.
Karen Cornell attended Purdue University Daniels School of Business from 1998 to 2003, earning a Bachelor's degree in Management/Marketing.
