Bill Ruane has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Bill started their career in 2005 at Ohio School Pictures, where they served as the In-house Computer Programmer, SnapSync Department Manager, and Assistant IT Manager. Bill then worked as a Thermographer/Owner at R & S Infrared from 2006 to 2011. In 2011, Bill joined AllMax Software, Inc. as a Software Engineer. Bill later became a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The Ohio State University from 2011 to 2013. Bill continued their research work at the university as a Graduate Research Associate, where they built custom scanning ferromagnetic resonance force microscope and studied defects in ZnO using Depth Resolved Cathodoluminescence Spectroscopy. Bill then worked as a Software Artisan at Pillar Technology from 2018 to 2019. Their next role was as a Software Artisan, Industry X.0 at Accenture from 2019 to 2020. Currently, Bill is working as a Software Engineer at augustwenty, starting in October 2020.
Bill Ruane began their education in 2000 at The Ohio State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics & Mathematics, which they completed in 2003. Bill then continued their academic journey at the same institution, completing a Master of Science degree in Physics between 2011 and 2013. Subsequently, they enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy program in Physics at The Ohio State University from 2013 to 2018, ultimately earning their Ph.D. in that field.
