Cordelia Avery has a strong background in software engineering with experience in various roles and institutions. Cordelia is currently working as a Founding Software Engineer at August since July 2021. Prior to that, Cordelia worked at Second Spectrum, Inc. for three years as a Software Engineer from August 2018 to July 2021. Before that, they served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Intelligent Transportation Systems Lab from September 2017 to June 2018. Cordelia also had an internship at Second Spectrum, Inc. as a Software Engineer Intern from June 2017 to September 2017. Cordelia gained early experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology InfoLab from January 2015 to May 2016. Cordelia's early career included internships at Lola.com as a Software Engineer Intern and at AT&T as a Software Engineer Intern in 2015 and 2014 respectively.

Cordelia Avery earned their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2017. Cordelia later pursued further education at MIT and completed their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computer Science in 2018.
