Michael DeMaioribus retired as executive vice president from Dynetics, Inc., a high-technology company headquartered in Huntsville, AL. He now consults through DeMaioribus Technologies LLC. He was appointed to the Board of Trustees by Governor Robert Bentley and confirmed by the Alabama Senate on February 14, 2013, to represent the 8th District. His first term expired on February 13, 2020, and he was reappointed to a second term by Governor Kay Ivey and confirmed by the Alabama Senate on February 3, 2021. His second term will expire on February 2, 2028.

DeMaioribus earned his bachelor's degree (1976) and a master's degree (1977) in electrical engineering from Auburn University.
