Jim started his career in the United States Air Force as a Crew Chief on an F-15. With his family being his top priority and it being important that his children grow up close to family, Jim knew the Air Force would not be a long-term career. After serving 4 years, including two years overseas, he received an Honorable Discharge and returned home, where he began working for his father-in-law. After a few years, his stepfather informed him of a job opportunity at IBM; his duties would include switching out mice and keyboards and adding computers to the network. He jumped at that opportunity, gained invaluable experience in a rapidly changing computer and technology field, and found his calling. When the contract with IBM was coming to an end, Jim and other co-workers decided to start their own business: AtNetPlus.
In 1992, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Laurel. She helps keep him focused, yet grounded. Together, they have raised three daughters. Jim often jokes about being sorely outnumbered at home, especially when he includes his three female Labradors in the count, but he truly loves it!
Jim’s biggest hobby is his Corvettes and anything race-related. He is the proud owner of a 1974 Corvette, which was passed down to him by a late uncle and holds great sentimental value. He loves watching anything with a motor and speed, whether on TV or in person. Also, his two young nephews are a big part of his life and he enjoys spending time with them.
