Michelle Delport began their career as Union Secretary at the University of Queensland Union, where they provided strategic oversight for staff and managed student support services. Michelle then worked as a Law Clerk at ClarkeKann Lawyers, where they prepared transactional property documents. Delport went on to serve as an Associate to Their Honour Justice White AO and later to Michelle'sHonour Justice Morrison at the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Queensland. Michelle gained experience in exhibits management and record keeping as an Exhibits Officer at the Records Management Team in the Queensland Supreme & District Courts Registry. Delport then worked as a Lawyer at Schweikert Harris, focusing on a domestic arbitration related to a construction project. Michelle later joined the Barrett Adolescent Centre Commission of Inquiry as a Legal Officer, conducting interviews and drafting sections of submissions and reports. Delport then joined Clayton Utz as a Senior Lawyer, working on international arbitration for a major infrastructure project. Michelle most recently held the position of Compliance & Data Protection Manager (APAC & LATAM) at ELEMENTS GLOBAL SERVICES, which later rebranded to Atlas. In this role, Delport developed policies in areas such as AML/CTF, Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption, and Data Protection. Michelle is currently serving as Compliance & Data Protection Manager at Atlas.

- From 2006 to 2007, Michelle studied at Griffith University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science.
- Michelle then attended The University of Queensland from 2008 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts with an extended major in Political Science.
- In 2012, Michelle briefly attended The Australian National University, where they completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
- Michelle furthered their education in 2015 at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, where they undertook a course titled "Introduction to International Arbitration."
In addition to their formal education, Michelle has obtained several certifications:
- In December 2012, they were admitted to the legal profession as a lawyer by the Supreme Court of Queensland, Australia.
- In March 2020, Michelle obtained the "Espanol DELE Nivel A2" (Spanish DELE Level A2) certification from Instituto Cervantes.
- Most recently, in November 2021, Michelle earned a "Regulatory Compliance Specialization" certification from Coursera.
