Premila B.

Premila B. has extensive work experience in the medical field. Starting in 2002, they worked as a Resident in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital before becoming a Clinical Fellow in Nephrology at the same hospital. In 2007, they became an Instructor in Clinical Medicine at Columbia University. In 2009, they joined MATTOO & BHAT MEDICAL ASSOCIATES, PC as a Nephrologist, where they managed all aspects of inpatient and outpatient Nephrology care and led the development of a new Clinical Research program. In 2015, they started working at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center as the Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine, providing administrative and clinical support and overseeing the residency program in Internal Medicine. Premila also served as the Residency Program Director and Core Faculty and Attending in Nephrology, as well as the Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Currently, they are the Regional Medical Director at PRINE Health, where they oversee medical operations and quality metrics.

Premila B. attended Columbia University from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience and Behavior. Premila then pursued further education at Yale University School of Medicine from 1998 to 2002, earning a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine.

In terms of additional certifications, Premila B. obtained the certification of Certified Hypertension Specialist (AHSCP-CHS) from the American Society of Hypertension in May 2022. Premila also completed the Value-Based Care Specialization from Coursera in February 2022. In the past, they obtained the Subspecialty Certification in Nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine in August 2008, as well as the certification in Internal Medicine from the same institution in August 2005.
