Joseph T Sheridan

Director, Academy Of Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management at Atlantic Cape Community College

Joseph T Sheridan, MS, CEC has extensive work experience in the culinary industry. Joseph T is currently the Director of the Academy of Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management at Atlantic Cape Community College, a position they have held since January 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Interim Director of the same department. Joseph T has been with Atlantic Cape Community College since August 2007, initially joining as a Chef Educator and Dining Room Educator.

In addition to their current position, Sheridan has also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at Stockton University since January 2019.

Before transitioning to academia, Sheridan gained valuable industry experience at various casino hotels. Joseph T worked at Caesars Entertainment, Inc. from 1998 to 2007, where they held positions such as Executive Sous Chef at Showboat Casino Hotel, Restaurant Chef, Assistant Chef Garde Manger, and Assistant Restaurant Chef. Prior to their time at Caesars Entertainment, Inc., they worked at Hatteras Coastal Cuisine as a Chef/Manager and at Tropicana Casino Resort as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Beverage Manager, and Room Service Supervisor.

Sheridan's earlier experience includes roles at Branches Restaurant as General Manager, Sheraton Tara Hotel as Assistant Banquet Manager, Hanover Marriott Hotel as Lounge Manager, Trump Castle Casino Hotel as Beverage Supervisor, and The Parsippany Hilton as Lounge Manager and Head Banquet Houseman.

Through their various roles, Sheridan has developed expertise in culinary arts, restaurant operations, and hospitality management. Joseph T has a strong background in menu development, creating standardized recipes, and overseeing kitchen staff.

Joseph T Sheridan holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Hospitality Administration/Management, which was obtained from Fairleigh Dickinson University between 2012 and 2018. Joseph T also has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Culinary Arts with a minor in Business, earned at Drexel University from 1998 to 2004. In addition, Joseph attained an Associate in Applied Science degree in The Academy of Culinary Arts from Atlantic Cape Community College, where they studied from 1994 to 1996. Furthermore, they have obtained certifications such as the ACF Certified Executive Chef (CEC) from the American Culinary Federation in November 2008, and the WileyPLUS Assignment Creation PRO from Wiley in August 2020.
