Lloyd Richards Jr. has extensive experience in sports operations and event management. Lloyd currently serves as the Vice President of Sports Operations at Athletes Unlimited, where they oversee the planning and execution of leagues and contributes to the organization's growth. Prior to this, they founded JLR Events and Logistics LLC, providing event consulting and management services. Lloyd also served as the Senior Director of Events and Operations at USA Lacrosse, leading the organization's events business and managing facilities.
Lloyd has worked in various roles in football operations, including as the Assistant Athletic Director of Football Operations at the University of Maryland and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In these positions, they managed the day-to-day business functions, facility management, and long-term planning for the football programs.
Additionally, Lloyd has experience in major event management, having served as the Director of Major Event Management at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Vice President of Operations and Logistics at both the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee and the NY NJ Super Bowl Host Committee. In these roles, they oversaw the planning and execution of major events, managed logistics and operations, and worked closely with various agencies and officials.
Throughout their career, Lloyd has demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work across different areas within sports organizations, including football operations, event management, and logistics.
Lloyd Richards Jr. started their education at Thornwood High School, where they received their High School Diploma in College/University Preparatory and Advanced High School/Secondary Diploma Program in 1990. Lloyd then went on to attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from 1990 to 1995. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Organizational Communication at the same university from 1996 to 2003.
In terms of certifications, Lloyd Richards Jr. has completed various professional courses. In 2017, they participated in the FBI Citizens Academy Program, offered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
