Fernando Olea

Director, Development at ATEC Spine

Fernando Olea's work experience begins with their role as a Machine Shop Assistant at SDSU Machine Shop in 2008, where they gained hands-on experience with various machine shop equipment. Fernando then worked as a Research Lab Assistant at SDSU Bioengineering Lab from 2008 to 2009, where they designed custom components and assisted in research experiments. Starting in 2005, they became a CAD Instructor at SolidProfessor, where they developed training courses for SolidWorks software and provided technical support to users. In 2009, they joined NuVasive as a Senior Project Engineer, where they gained experience in engineering design and the development of complex implant and instrument systems. Currently, they work at Alphatec Spine, where they started as a Senior Manager in 2017 and now holds the position of Director of Development.

Fernando Olea obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University. Fernando attended this institution from 2004 to 2009. In 2016, Fernando enrolled in the Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals program, where they pursued Advanced Courses in Robotics and Control Systems until 2019.
