Phil Barnhart began their work experience in 1994 as a Process Engineer at Biogen Idec. In 1998, they joined Amgen where they worked as a Principal Engineer in the Global Process Engineering group. In this role, they were responsible for transferring developed processes to clinical and commercial manufacturing facilities. In 2016, Phil joined Atara Biotherapeutics, Inc. as the Director of Manufacturing Sciences and Technology. At Atara, they were involved in the development of T-cell products for the treatment of oncology and autoimmune diseases. Their work focused on building a library of T-cells for targeted therapies that could be readily deployed for patients in need.
From 1981 to 1985, Phil Barnhart attended the University of Northern Colorado, but the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
