Michael Husby

Director, Clinical Science at AtaCor Medical

Michael Husby has over 25 years of experience in the medical industry. Michael began their career in 1992 as a Research / Teaching Assistant at Oklahoma State University, where they managed a multi-site research study, developed protocols, organized field collections, conducted lab analyses, and taught lab sections of Human Anatomy, Vertebrate Morphology, and Mammalogy. In 1996, they joined the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources as a Researcher, coordinating field collections and laboratory procedures for surveys of rodent-transmitted diseases and environmental impact of military training activity. In 1998, they moved to Boston Scientific Corporation as a Regulatory Associate, creating data collection strategies to support US and OUS regulatory submissions and marketing claims. In 2002, they joined Guidant Corporation as a Principal Clinical Research Scientist, leading the DECREASE-HF clinical study team and making critical decisions about safety, event coding, trial policy, data analysis methods, regulatory strategy, ethics and reporting. In 2005, they returned to Boston Scientific as a Principal Field Clinical Engineer, supporting field execution of IDE protocols and providing feedback and ideas for new products. In 2011, they moved to Cameron Health, a Boston Scientific Company, as Manager, Clinical Studies, managing the clinical study department with six direct reports and playing the lead role for clinical studies on the company’s FDA panel team. In 2014, they joined Boston Scientific as a Clinical Research Fellow. Most recently, in 2019, they joined AtaCor Medical, Inc. as Director, Clinical Science.

Michael Husby obtained their Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Oklahoma State University in 1991, followed by a Master of Science in Zoology from the same university in 1995. Michael then attended Loyola University Chicago, where they earned a Master of Public Health in 2012. Prior to that, they graduated from Weatherford High School in 1987.
