Workshop Facilitator - Community, Advocacy And Power Program at Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

Amanda Turnbull is a Senior Communications Specialist at the Australian Institute of Family Studies since January 2024, focused on managing social media channels and developing integrated communications plans. Since June 2018, Amanda has facilitated workshops for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre's Community, Advocacy and Power Program, empowering individuals with lived experiences of seeking asylum. Previous roles include Project Coordinator for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's international development projects, and communications positions with the University of Melbourne, The Smith Family, Angkor Hospital for Children, and the Ponheary Ly Foundation. Amanda also worked as a freelance writer and content producer from 2006 to 2016, offering a range of media and communications services. Educational qualifications include a Graduate Certificate of International and Community Development from Deakin University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Producing from the Victorian College of the Arts, and a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media from UNSW.
